Recovery

It seemed to take forever but after 8 days of drips, drains and being mainly stuck in bed I was allowed to leave hospital and return home.  

Either mum or dad stayed with me every night which was good.  To start with I wasn’t allowed to eat anything except “broth” but it was horrible and tasted like cabbage water and actually made me sick – so I didn't have to eat that anymore!  But once I was eating I had all sorts of things, one morning they gave me cornflakes with hot milk – it is not nice DON’T TRY IT!

I had 2 drains stuck in me as well as the IV so it was hard to move about – not that I felt like it anyway – but when they took them out they gave me “laughing gas” which mum and dad thought was really funny (and I did too!)

Once I came home I had a nurse visit me at home to do dressings and was too tired to do anything except sit in a chair.  Dad left for Samoa a few days after I got back (he went for a fishing tournament and caught a marlin) and we were supposed to go to England to visit our cousin Henry because it was school holidays but we had to wait a few days because I was still too sick.  

We went to legoland the next week though (see next entry) and I have now had 2 weeks back at school and am feeling much better.

So it turns out he wasn't faking!!!

On Thursday Ariki was sick and has been suffering from a sore tummy since. He was getting better every day but still weak. Today we went to a Dr who sent us to hospital... A whole lot of tests and a scan later and it turns out it's appendicitis. He has now had surgery and is recovering well. Any gifts or cards can be sent to his home address. ;)

Guess what we did for Ariki's birthday on the 10th (and a day or so either side!)

Ariki writes for upstart

Ariki was asked at the end of last year to write for an issue of upstart.  Here is the copy we received which you can find for real in the Feb/March issue of upstart!

We forgot to load this on, last year but this was taken when we visited the local Nice Marine land.

When we move, we are looking forward to going more often.
There was also a Waterpark, cowboy park and a theme park next door.

Our school is 5 minutes away - Yay!

White Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone

As most of you know we are in Carcassonne for Christmas. We are with Amelia, Helen, Alex, Chloe, Margie, Alban, Catherine and Henry. We had fun catching up with everyone. we spent an afternoon in the city of carcassonne where we went iceskating in a rink set up in the square for a month over christmas, we got caught in a Parade and then went on the ferris wheel.

Christmas was cool we got heaps of presents and had a yummy late lunch...plus all the yummy treats that santa had left us.

We (well really mum wanted) a white Christmas and we got it (well it was on boxing day!) but it really cool...we went down stairs in the morning and saw that there was snow upstairs so we went and woke Mum and Dad. We had a snowfight with Dad and then later made snowmen. It was pretty hard until aunty Catherine told us how to do it easily by rolling the snow into balls.

First Snow

We decided to come home from Montpellier via the Millau viaduct
(photos to come later) and on the way home we found our first snow of
the season. Here we are throwing snowballs at Dad in a little town
called St Leon near millau.
Ps... Don't eat yellow snow!
